Plot:
Greevey and Logan investigate the murder of a wealthy factory owner named Jarmin in the Upper East Side, who was presumably shot by his two sons. As the investigation continues, the detectives learn that he owner was in debt to the Russian mafia which could be one the possible motives to his murder.

Plot:
While en route to the Downtown Courthouse, a Lebanese prisoner is found killed in the back of the prisoner transport. Greevey and Logan suspect a Cuban inmate and the leader of an IRA organization. It also leads to government resistance as Stone and Robinette try to prosecute the case.

Plot:
Cragen is investigated by Internal Affairs after he is implicated in police corruption. Greevey and Logan along with Stone search desperately for the truth as Cragen looks guiltier and the Police Blue Wall of Silence tightens harder and harder.

Plot:
When a woman is shot to death inside her car, Briscoe and Logan suspect her husband is the killer. A bullet still lodged in the victim's head will prove or disprove her husband's guilt and McCoy and Kincaid weigh the risk of obtaining this crucial evidence at the expense of possibly killing the victim.

Plot:
A successful white stockbroker is found dead of rifle wound to the head. Although it initially looks like a suicide, the medical examiner reports that he was murdered. His coworkers immediately point the finger at "golden boy" Bud Greer -- a young, black junior trader. Bud tells Logan and Briscoe that success isn't about money, it's about power and with his major competitor dead, Bud now has the power. When Bud pleads insanity due to "black rage" the ADAs don't buy it for a second.

Plot:
The sixth-season opener finds detective Lennie Briscoe teamed with a new partner, Rey Curtis. For their first assignment together, Briscoe and Curtis try to piece together the last hours in the life of a murdered girl, using an ATM machine film to determine what happened to the victim between her classroom and her music lesson. The results of the investigation lead to a revenge killing -- which many observers regard as "justice."

Plot:
After a gay man is found murdered, police discover he was suing the law firm who recently fired him. When a husband and wife both surface as suspects, McCoy and Kincaid have troubling which of them is the killer - since they share motive, means, and opportunity.

When an attempt is made on a man's life, detectives discover a hit man was hired to kill him - by his wife's first husband's mother. When arrested, she says she'll agree to any plea bargain, as long as police investigate whether or not her son was killed by the man she tried to have killed.

Plot:
A man opens fire during the docking of a dinner cruise boat. The Governor appoints a special prosecutor because Schiff refuses to seek the death penalty; McCoy helps Schiff appeal while Ross helps the special prosecutor at trial. Schiff's wife is hospitalized following a stroke.

Plot:
A delivery boy is lured to a remote location by two punks who kill him for the thrill of it. They are tracked down, but the evidence is shaky. They then accuse each other, thus casting reasonable doubt on each other's contribution. In an attempt to gather more evidence, recordings are made of their conversations with visitors in prison. On one tape a boy makes a full confession to his uncle, but it turns out the uncle is a priest. A legal debate ensues as to whether the tape is admissible. The result is that the two are no longer tried in one case, which undermines their mutual accusation tactic. McCoy manages to get a plea bargain from one of them and get them both convicted for the crime. In the background, detective Curtis learns that his wife suffers from multiple sclerosis.

Plot:
A woman is killed when she falls from her apartment window and the investigation first focuses on her husband and whether she may be having second thoughts about recently giving up her baby for adoption. After it is discovered that the baby given up by this wealthy white couple was African American the detectives wonder if the killer may have had prejudicial motives.

Plot:
A woman wants to make sure about a guy who took her along to his apartment and listens to his answering machine. She hears: "I did it. You don't have to worry any more. I killed Dee-Dee". She runs off and reports this to the police. Some digging reveals that Dee-Dee was a five year old girl who was killed in a fire. The eventual suspect has a very influential grandfather who fiercely resists the prosecution.

Plot:
Two men in a restaurant rush to the washroom with guns drawn when they hear shots fired there. Their friend is all right but one stranger lies dead and another is seriously wounded. Investigations lead to an attempt on the life of a psychologist who has kept many a suspect from the prison cells by testifying as an expert witness.

Plot:
A popular social worker is gunned down on the street. She turns out to be heavily involved in kinky S&M sex. The investigation turns up more bodies in the same scene. The suspect who goes to trial says he enjoyed watching violent TV programs.

Plot:
A marriage counselor who also works on Roman Catholic annulment cases is murdered in her office. The suspect is a woman who was contesting the annulment of her marriage because it would make her son, for the church, illegitimate. The lawyer who handled her legal divorce uses the situation to squeeze more money from the ex-husband.

Plot:
Police believe a young woman is responsible for the stabbing of a police officer. McCoy is stunned during his cross-examination of the defendant on the stand. McCoy and Ross struggle with the morality of the death penalty when she claims she has become a "born again" Christian on death row and has asked to end her appeals.

Plot:
The investigation into the brutal murder of a black off-duty police officer takes a shocking twist into the NYPD. McCoy and Carmichael believe they have mistakingly made a deal with the most culpable defendant and try to nullify their agreement.

Plot:
When a man hears gun shots in his neighbor's home and calls 911, Detectives Briscoe and Curtis find themselves investigating the murder of a wealthy man and his very young daughter. The wife and mother of the deceased seems to know a lot more than she lets on. District Attorneys McCoy and Carmichael hit a snag in the case when important evidence cannot be obtained because of unusual circumstances.

Plot:
Briscoe and Curtis investigate the death of a philosophy professor on the subway tracks who some witnesses say had been in an argument with someone and then pushed. The investigation leads to a prominent man and his family from out of town who had a past connection to a friend of the victim.

Plot:
A group of young women are mowed down in the park with an automatic weapon and many are killed. Briscoe and Green manage to track down the misogynist offender, but it is hard to build a solid case. In consequence, McCoy and Carmichael attempt to prosecute the manufacturer who supplied the gun. Ground for the charge is that the gun is very easy to convert to full-automatic, using instructions and parts that can be picked up at any gunshow.

Plot:
A child's body is found at a construction site. Evidence shows that two girls, ages 10 and 13, may have witnessed portions of the crime. However, as the investigation gets deeper, the possibility grows that these young kids may have actually been responsible for the murder themselves.

Plot:
A travel agency employee is found beaten into a coma at her apartment. Briscoe and Green quickly suspect a man who had been in a relationship with the victim's sister, who had been murdered a few years earlier. Strong physical and circumstantial evidence leads to what looks to be an open and shut case. However, the defendant's strong insistence of his innocence and other unusual circumstances lead the case to become more complicated than it seemed.

Plot:
An elderly patient is found murdered in a hospital lounge during a visit from her family, who were also dealing with her husband's Alzheimer's disease. The investigation quickly discovers that the victim may have recently started a romantic relationship with a man who could be a con-artist.

Plot:
When an Hispanic male is found dead from a severe chest trauma, Detectives Briscoe and Green discover that he and two other illegal immigrants had been in a staged automobile accident. As evidence mounts linking numerous similar car crashes with the same employer, chiropractor, insurance adjuster, and lawyers, A.D.A.s McCoy and Carmichael must determine who is ultimately responsible for the man's death, from which so many others profited.

Plot:
When a masked student opens fire on classmates, killing four and wounding eleven, Detectives Briscoe and Green soon discover the unsettling fact that more than one student fits the profile of a youth heading toward committing such violence. The urgency of the investigation compounds when an e-mail threat of more murders is received by the student council president. Former assistant prosecutor Jamie Ross returns as a defense attorney trying to spare her troubled client from life in prison.

Plot:
The investigation of the murder of two roommates in their apartment leads to a hostage situation with an innocent civilian's life at stake. Southerlyn, who is at the scene, tries to solve the crisis in a manner that is challenged as being unethical for a prosecutor.

The body of a scantily clad woman believed to be a high-class escort is found on the Upper East Side, especially after promiscuous behaviour is uncovered by the medical examiner. Later, Green & Briscoe uncover an organized crime attempt to corner the prescription oxycodone market.

Plot:
Briscoe and Green believe a victim of arson was hiding his real identity and held a 'wealth' of secrets that led to his murder. A Desert Storm veteran who fancies himself a soldier on the War on Terror is charged with murdering him. The case becomes more complicated when evidence after the fact suggests that the victim's secrets may have indeed been a terrorist.

Plot:
Investigating the death of a rock band singer who had large amounts of cocaine and heroin in her system, the detectives question a former boyfriend who was a disgruntled band mate of her late husband. The prosecutors are hampered by the actions of a retired detective, who worked a case with Briscoe several years back, turned writer whose unconventional research tactics makes him a suspect as well.

Plot:
When a skeleton is discovered with an unusual ring, it seems related to a victim of the WTC tragedy that had been involved with a member of a politically powerful NYC family. The Law and Order team must sort out the case without stepping on toes or giving into pressure.

An acquaintance and stockbroker of cosmetics mogul Jackie Scott - and who had a romantic relationship with her - is found murdered. The investigation reveals that Scott's sale of stock benefited from insider trading, so when Briscoe and Green make her a prime suspect and apply the heat, it's no surprise when she solicits help from an old friend - DA Arthur Branch. But Jackie doesn't bank on Arthur turning the tables on her.

Plot:
Briscoe and Green catch four murders and a kidnapping on the same day, and get handed confessions in each case. This episode appears to be ripped from the headlines of the Scott Peterson case. Scott Peterson was convicted of murdering his wife, Laci, and unborn son, Connor, in 2005.

Plot:
The investigation into the murder of a former bookie turned mob informant reveals a disturbing new wrinkle in organized crime involving legitimate businessmen moonlighting as contract hit men in a battle for mob leadership, and ends with a Federal ploy to nullify the plea bargain in the case, leaving McCoy seething and two more people dead.

A wealthy motivational speaker is murdered. Briscoe and Green soon discover that the victim's sister, whom they had broken the news of the death to shortly after the body was found, was actually her ex-girlfriend and was now gone along with the victim's young adopted daughter, who had lived with the couple in Florida when they were together.

When an elderly woman is murdered in her apartment the focus quickly turns to the man who drives her and other robbery victims to their physical therapy appointments. When the detectives learn the woman had recently gone to the justice center their focus soon turns to a Nazi death camp guard and a Neo Nazi music producer.

A well-respected veteran Assistant District Attorney who seemed to have no personal life is murdered. The investigation takes a shocking turn when it is revealed that he was using an assumed identity and had never actually graduated from law school.

Briscoe and Green investigate the death of a man in a bar fight. The investigation leads to a convicted murderer who was recently released from prison after DNA had exonerated him from the crime. His attorney argues that his client should not be legally responsible for the murder because of the conditioning caused by spending years in prison for a crime he did not commit.

Lustful lovers discover a woman's body in the abandoned office they use for their trysty getaway. The murdered woman is discovered to be a corporal in the US Army who served at Abu Garib prison. The detectives investigate the military and the woman's place of employment and eventually finger the wife of a man who works in the office building where the woman was found. The suspect's brother was abused at the Iraqi prison. Can McCoy sway the jury to dissuade the ignore the prisoner of war defense put up by Nadira and her lawyer?

Plot:
A death of a woman on a boat at first seems accidental but is found to be foul play. The detectives find out that the woman's husband, a firefighter, was killed during the September 11th attacks. Two undercover police officers are murdered during a gun purchase. Det. Green risks his life by going undercover to catch the murderers. McCoy and Borgia explore how the killers knew their victims were undercover officers - pointing to corruption in the courthouse.

The detectives are skeptical when a former street activist turned shock jock with a history of staging phony muggings to gain publicity for his causes appears to be the subject of an attempt on his life after publicly assailing a mobster, but they begin to believe his story after they discover that the married jock was involved with the mobster's mistress.

Plot:
Detectives Green and Fontana investigate the murder of seven people, three of whom were high school girls from a prestigious private school. The other four were drug dealers and when the police find that their boss was also killed, they start working their way up the line and find it goes to Qaadar Khaleel, an Afghan warlord who is an ally of the United States government. Khaleel tries to claim diplomatic immunity and when that fails, the defense tries to embarrass the Federal government into arranging for his client's release by suggesting they had, implicitly or explicitly, supported his drug activities.

Plot:
Dr. Rogers discovers that more than a dozen people have died of the flu after supposedly receiving a flu shot. The detectives' investigation leads to a career con man selling saline solution disguised as the flu vaccine. Annie Parisse makes her first appearance as ADA Alexandra Borgia

Plot:
An up-and-coming lawyer is found in the conference room, her head bashed in with an award found there. McCoy and Borgia must coax several reluctant witnesses to testify against another lawyer who is up for partner, including the married father of her unborn fetus...which has horrific consequences for the 27th precinct.

Plot:
A gun is found at the scene of a suspected arson fire and linked to a nine-year-old murder. This leads to a suspect who quickly confesses and whose lawyer argues should not be punished because he has found God and become a changed man since the crime.

Plot:
After a man causes a massive train crash that results in multiple deaths, McCoy tries to prosecute him for murder despite his insanity defense. But McCoy finds himself hampered by a defense attorney whose own agenda may undercut that of his client.

The death of a con-man who tried to call Olivia Benson just before he was murdered brings Olivia and Fin to the assistance of Fontana and Green, and leads Olivia back to her old nemesis - slippery mother/daughter team Lorraine Dillon and April Troost.

Fontana and Green investigate the murder of an aspiring journalist who was working undercover on a story about street gangs. The detectives find a connection between a real estate salesman with a son in Sing Sing and the street gang the journalist was investigating. McCoy charges the salesman with murder, but he refuses all deals, nor will he mount a reasonable defense.

Plot:
A woman is murdered and her baby kidnapped. The detectives use an eyewitness to track down a woman who looked pregnant running from the apartment with the child. After locating the woman, who has even fooled her husband, and starting her trial, the baby's paternity comes into question and the baby's real father faces his own trial.

Plot:
After the daughter of one of Van Buren's college friends is found dead in her room, a suicide, Van Buren joins Green and Fontana in hunting down the man who burned her face with acid months earlier, ultimately leading to her suicide. Van Buren is unsuccessful in getting a lot of help from her friend, who is terrified that the man who destroyed her elder daughter's life with also destroy her younger daughter as well. McCoy and Borgia's case hits a snag when Van Buren takes the stand and comes close to committing perjury to keep Jason Corley behind bars.

Plot:
The latest murder victims of two home invaders are the family members of a man who once sold fake DEA badges to the killers and then began secretly cooperating with police. The case takes a harrowing turn when one of the team is attacked and goes missing. In a legal gambit, McCoy must then risk his career -- and those of others, as well -- to bend the rules and use corrupt DEA Agent Almonte to lure out the sadistic psychopaths.

A police officer is murdered during the burglary of a paparazzi's apartment. The investigation reveals that the photographer may have embarrassing photos of a young celebrity and her child, and her gangsta-wannabe husband becomes a suspect.

An internet posting of a slashed soccer mom provocatively dressed provokes a slew of 911 calls which leads Detectives Ed Green and Nina Cassady to the crime scene. But something is amiss; the clothes and the shoes don't fit the victim. In what appears to be an open-and-shut case, the suspect - a schizophrenic - is arraigned by A.D. As Jack McCoy and Connie Rubirosa but further investigation into a popular online social networking site leads to the real culprit.

Plot:
A young girl is killed while walking with her mother when an Upper East Side brownstone explodes. Detectives Ed Green and Nina Cassady quickly determine that faulty wiring is to blame and their investigation leads to the building owner's ex-wife. But with only circumstantial evidence, it's difficult for A.D.A.s Jack McCoy and Connie Rubirosa to prove their case.

Plot:
After a man is seen being murdered on tape in what appears to be an American movement against Islam, Green and Cassady investigate the case, which leads them to the man's cousin, who appears to be connected to a terrorist cell functioning inside New York. Unfortunately, a key piece of evidence surrounds a recent shipment of uranium, which McCoy and Rubirosa are forbidden to mention by the federal government. When news of the uranium leaks out, McCoy and Rubirosa find themselves the victims of intense federal scrutiny.

Plot:
A convicted killer goes on a killing spree after escaping police custody. The new victims include two police officers and four schoolchildren. Jack wants to pursue the death penalty, but his argument is rejected in court. However, one of the parents of his victims takes the law into his own hands and kills the man himself. The killer's lawyer in the new case is an ambitious self-promoting attorney who wants to use the case to advance her own political aspirations. Jack thinks the man is receiving bad advice from his attorney, but reluctantly pursues murder charges.

Plot:
With some similarities to recent news items involving the death of Anna Nicole Smith's son, when Michael Jones dies in his mother's hospital room, his mother Ashley accuses her former husband's adult children of his murder. The facts of the case and the autopsy actually lead Green and Cassady to look into illegally harvested donor bones. McCoy and Rubirosa prosecute the physician who procured the body parts without consent, in the process finding another of the physician's unknowing victims.
